How long is high school?
After elementary school, students move on to middle school (also called junior high school) where they study for 3 years. After that, students go to senior high school. In some states, high school students are required to study until they turn 18.

The age 24.7 years old is the average German student. The age has thus increased slightly compared to the previous social survey in 2012 (24.4 years). Most of the students surveyed (58 percent) are between 20 and 25 years old, a quarter between 26 and 30 years.
