The Mighty Deerstalker is Scotland’s Original Obstacle Race. The course takes you through the dark, windy, and rugged Borders terrain. It’s an endurance event that is challenging but fun for runners and joggers of all levels. The distance of the event is kept secret by Laird, Ghillies and anyone with a GPS watch.

Training for the Mighty Deerstalker is crucial. The course is difficult and includes a notorious scree hill. This hill is a seemingly never-ending slog through loose gravel, rocks, and stones. It can be very taxing on your back, especially in the lower section. A good strategy for the scramble is to crawl up the hill on all fours, as standing up at various points only wastes energy.
