He went on to attend Harvard Business School. His goal was to join Schofields – his family’s renowned department store – but instead joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1940 – 1946 as a fighter pilot.
After helping resurrect the Navy water polo program, Schofield went on to coach multiple award-winning teams and win many individual coaching honors, such as being named an outstanding coach by ACWPC All-America selections since 2001.
