Steven Scholermann

Steven Scholermann is an award-winning German director known for his cinematographic efforts. His latest project is BARK, a psychological thriller.

This fourth season aired from October to December 2014. Nena, Yvonne Catterfeld, Michi Beck & Smudo as coaches returned; Rea Garvey joined as well as newcomer Andreas Bourani; Lena Gercke continued hosting this season.

Early Life and Education

Scholermann began making Super-8 movies at an early age. Inspired to enter the film industry, he later attended Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg to study film making while also acting as producer on several national and international commercial movies.

He is currently developing the film, “Pathology”. This depraved cinematic experience is filled with body parts, extracurricular activities, and boldly tasteless language.

In Season Seven of The Voice of Germany, Mark Forster joined Yvonne Catterfeld and Samu Haber as coaches, replacing Andreas Bourani with Mark Forster as well as Michi & Smudo with Michael Patrick Kelly as coaches. Michi & Smudo’s Michael Patrick Kelly replaced Andreas Bourani this year, while Lena Gercke hosted alongside Melissa Khalaj and Steven Gatjen was then brought in as mentors during semi-finals and final.

Professional Career

Steven Schiesel is a founding partner of Pecoraro & Schiesel, a Manhattan litigation firm specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance coverage disputes and general commercial matters. He earned both his B.A. (Commend) from Columbia University in New York as well as his J.D. from Fordham Law School.

He has extensive trial attorney experience and is rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubble. Additionally, he belongs to both the American Board of Trial Advocates and New York State Bar Association as members.

He is greatly inspired by music, and considers helping others the key to leading a fulfilling life. He has contributed actively to several charities and organizations while enjoying traveling extensively. Furthermore, he is an aspiring entrepreneur, having founded several businesses including one providing social media marketing.

Achievement and Honors

Scholermann began his career by shooting Super-8 movies. Since then, he has established himself as one of the leading commercial directors in Germany working on international projects for brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Audi. For his efforts he has received multiple national and international accolades, such as Cannes Lion Awards.

Mark Forster returned as coach, while Yvonne Catterfeld and Stefanie Kloss worked as duo coaches. Samu Haber and Michi & Smudo also returned, while Annemarie Carpendale replaced Nico Santos as online-coach; hosts Thore Scholermann and Lena Gercke were not affected in any way by these changes.

Melissa Khalaj from Team Yvonne Catterfeld and Stefanie was declared winner of Season 10.

Personal Life

As of 2020, Scholermann is happily married to his partner and proud father of one child. In his free time he enjoys spending it with family, friends, doing hobbies and traveling around.

He has since then appeared in a variety of popular movies and TV shows such as AppleTV series HOME BEFORE DARK as Lt. Briggs and FOX’s medical drama THE RESIDENT as one of its season’s main villains, among many other projects such as major studio movies such as LUCKY NUMBERS opposite John Travolta; STATE OF PLAY alongside Russel Crowe and Kevin MacDonald; as well as independent hit GARDEN STATE with Zach Braff.

Scholermann co-hosted the German version of The Voice alongside Melissa Khalaj and Steven Gatjen from 2021-2022 and served as backstage presenter for this show. At 38, he currently resides in Hamburg.
