The real estate industry has many outstanding executives and John Santora is one of them. He has over 37 years of experience with Cushman & Wakefield.

He has led the firm’s business in North America, the largest global operating region. He is responsible for driving the execution of C&W’s strategy in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Early Life and Education

John was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. He grew up in a family with traditional values and learned the importance of hard work, which is a good trait to have in business.

He also managed award-winning restaurants and hotels and this has helped him in his new career as a real estate professional. His extensive knowledge of hospitality operations will help him provide excellent customer service to his clients and ensure the success of their transactions.

He has also been a judge since 1959 and served as the chief judge in Florida’s 4th Judicial Circuit from 1985 to 1992. His other notable accomplishment was the creation of a nationally recognized juvenile peer court program. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine; daughters Victoria Entwistle (John), Gayle Santora (Ken) and Shelley Santora Jones (Ken); son Jamie Capaci; grandchildren Emily and Frank Entwistle, Clara and James Jones, and Connor and Kaitlyn Capaci; brothers Robert and Donald Santora; sister Eileen; and countless friends and colleagues.

Professional Career

john santora’s career on the tennis court spanned four decades and seventy Grand Slam tournaments. He held numerous records, including winning the most career singles matches against top ten opponents and most French Open appearances by an active player.

He also ranked among the top five players in ATP history for wins over top ten opponents. He has appeared in 70 Grand Slam events, ranking third behind Roger Federer and Feliciano Lopez.

In a 1992 interview with a Jacksonville newspaper, Santora blamed school violence on integration, opposed interracial marriage and complained that most welfare recipients are black. Several weeks of protest followed.

John Santora has received a number of awards and honors for his achievements throughout his career. He has been a member of a number of boards and has won many industry and charity awards.

Currently, he is the Vice Chairman of Cushman & Wakefield. He is also a board member of the FDNY Foundation and Richmond University Medical Center.

A member of the Real Estate Board of New York, he was also awarded the Commercial Management Leadership Award in 2005. He is a Certified Property Manager by the Institute of Real Estate Management and is a Fellow of the University of Pennsylvania’s business school.

He also accused some welfare cheats of being black, a statement that could be considered racist. In a published response, Santora says that he was wrong in his statements and apologizes. He claims that his published comments were not an accurate reflection of his personal views and asserts that he will remain an impartial judge.
