myDriver: Sixt’s limousine service

When I didn’t have my own car in the years 2008-2011, I regularly rented from Sixt in order to take vacation trips or other (short) trips by rental car instead of taking the train. As I have already described in this article, a rental car is often even cheaper than an expensive train journey. With the numerous rentals that have come together over the years, there have almost always been premium vehicles such as the A3, A4 or BMW 1 Series for me. That’s why I quickly became a Sixt fan with a platinum card.

The mobility service provider Sixt has had a new subcontractor since the summer of 2012: myDriver! Booked on the myDriver website or via the app on your smartphone, you will be taken from A to B in high-quality vehicles and by a chauffeur. This is particularly interesting for airport transfers, from the hotel to the trade fair or simply for a fun tour of a city. The vehicle fleet currently includes BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche, among others.

myDriver has been in since January 1st, 2013 all major German metropolises – including Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Stuttgart and Dresden.
In order to guarantee a high standard of quality, myDriver only works with drivers who have received first-class training. The myDriver drivers chauffeur business people, hotel guests and private customers.

myDriver would also like to achieve a revolution in terms of price: The claim is that limousine rides are offered at taxi prices. This is also the case for many routes, and there is no surprise when it comes to the price anyway: A big advantage of myDriver is that you can specify the start and destination directly when booking and the customer is then shown the fare in advance! Where it is often annoying when taking a taxi to handle the payment and possibly the right tip in cash when you are stressed, myDriver simply pays with a credit or debit card stored in the customer account in advance.
