Early Life and Education
Steven Bode is a retired construction worker who also worked in local business. Today he’s known as an accomplished soccer coach at all levels-collegiate, professional, and amateur alike-and has spent time coaching with Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer as well as Marquette University in Wisconsin.
Bode is also a professional coach for Chicago FC United of USL League Two and acts as regional scout for U.S. Soccer identifying talent for national teams. Bode holds an A-Senior License issued by USSF.
The district court concluded that Steven met his burden of showing that circumstances had changed warranting modification of the dissolution decree to award primary physical care of Ryan and Ashley to himself. They determined this by considering Karen’s excessive alcohol use, failure to seek treatment for herself and introducing new men into their home as reasons why she could no longer care for them properly.

Bode was an outstanding member of MU’s men’s soccer team and earned numerous accolades including Pepsi/UWM Athlete of the Year awards and was honored with Herman Kluge award for academic and athletic achievement upon his senior season in 2007. After his college career came to a close, he spent 2019 as an assistant coach for Loyola Chicago’s men’s soccer program and guided them to win both Missouri Valley Conference tournament and NCAA tournament appearances. Bode is currently coaching Loyola University Chicago’s men’s soccer team, resulting in them winning Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship. Bode has 14 years of coaching experience at both collegiate and professional levels.
