Dan Joyce – A Memorable Man

Dan Joyce is a member of Dirty Sanchez and has become known for performing some painful and distasteful stunts on their show, such as drinking beer enemas and eating pube pizza.

As an FYS I took his class. Although his lectures can be dry and boring, he does a great job explaining readings well. Furthermore, this course requires extensive writing assignments as well as two presentations.

Early Life and Education

Dan Joyce was an extraordinary individual who delighted in making others laugh. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed golfing, hunting and scuba diving as hobbies. Additionally, Dan was a loving father to Noreen and Ryder; both will greatly miss him.

At Westbrook High School in Portland, Maine and Bowdoin College he studied baseball and football – as well as serving as social director of Theta Delta Chi fraternity.

David Hoh is a private practice attorney specializing in criminal and domestic violence law. He earned a law degree from Elon University, is employed at Legal Aid of North Carolina, is active within his local community as well as being board member for several local organizations; additionally he loves traveling and spending time with his family.

Professional Career

Dan Joyce is a professional stuntman and member of the Dirty Sanchez crew. Known for his gut wrenching antics that often involve him acting disgusting, his distinctive laugh is frequently emulated by other members.

Joyce currently holds the WBO Interim Title after defeating Zhang and is expected to make a run at Oleksandr Usyk if successful against him. Joyce believes he can get past Usyk’s skill and movement.

In his inaugural fight, he demolished Daniel Dubois with piston-like jabs. Dubois suffered a severely swollen eye after one round and collapsed to his knees at round ten’s end – having led on two scorecards prior to that point, it could have resulted in victory had the fight continued.

Achievement and Honors

Dan graduated Westbrook High School as a National Merit Scholar, where he lettered in baseball and football (and fraternity life as social director for Theta Delta Chi). At New York University he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors.

He served as program associate on democratic governance and human rights issues affecting Andean countries at the Inter-American Dialogue think tank based in Washington D.C.

He is part of Leadership Winston-Salem’s Flagship Program’s 2023 class, designed to empower selected community leaders and lead them into service to the city. Additionally, he attended Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health before serving on several boards including Catholic Partnership Schools’ Holy Name of Camden Inc and Saint Joseph Preparatory School boards.

Personal Life

Dan was an outgoing and friendly individual who delighted in new adventures while spending quality time with family. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Dan enjoyed sharing his sense of humor with others and showing kindness when necessary.

He was also deeply religious and fully integrated the Jesuit values of being “Men for Others” into his personal life. In particular, he made frequent pilgrimages to Medjugorje and El Santuario de Chimayo in New Mexico in service of children.

Dan was a managing attorney at Legal Aid of North Carolina and practiced civil law with a concentration on domestic violence cases. An avid sports fan who particularly enjoyed attending Boston College football games, Dan also loved animals – often stopping his car to help frogs or turtles across busy streets on Cape Cod.
