Dave Pelz and Bailey Davis Love III

Dave Pelz had been a scientist at NASA when he decided to devote himself solely to golf. His insights into the short game soon caught the attention of tour professionals, leading him to create clubs and practice aids with him as well.

He has since founded Pelz Scoring Schools, where amateurs can learn the intricacies of short game from Pelz himself.

Early Life and Education

Dave Pelz began his career at NASA as a Lead Researcher on Earth’s Upper Atmosphere and other planets. Upon leaving the agency, he pursued his passion for golf full time.

He quickly rose to become one of the world’s foremost experts on short game strategy and began teaching amateurs how to improve their scores. Through a unique short game methodology that emphasizes analytic realizations, he created an unparalleled learning system.

He has coached many professional golfers, such as Jim McLean and Hank Haney, and helped countless recreational players understand the value of having an effective short game. Furthermore, he has appeared as a guest on numerous golf-related television shows.

Professional Career

Davis Love III has achieved remarkable success during his thirty-five years as a professional golfer, earning 21 PGA Tour victories and being inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame. His accomplishments are the product of hard work and determination – testament to his remarkable career!

Davis is an experienced instructor, club fitter and merchandiser. He enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities with the goal of helping them to improve their game.

Coached several former Moccasins to success on the professional tour, including two Honda Award finalists Jana Peterkova and Lisa Cave. Marianne Andersson was also a two-time first team Academic All-American and Elite 89 Award recipient.

Under Davis, Florida Southern women’s golf has produced several national champions, including a 74-stroke victory at the 2001 Division II National Finals. Lindsey Bergeon finished as runner-up in 2006 while Heather Burgner (now Heather Wall) placed second in 2008.

Achievements and Honors

Bailey Davis has achieved remarkable success during her college career, earning SEC All-Freshman honors, competing in the US Women’s Open, and emerging as one of the most promising Black athletes in golf. Her example serves to demonstrate how golf can transform perceptions about those from traditionally marginalized communities.

In 2022, Davis led UC Davis to its fourth Big West Conference championship. The Aggies cruised past defending champion Long Beach State for an emphatic victory that secured them the league crown.

Over his 23 years as head coach of the Moccasins, Davis has produced numerous All-Americans. In fact, five players have earned national recognition while under his guidance.

Personal Life

Dave has been an avid disc golfer his entire life. He holds a degree in sports education from Lane Community College and was instrumental in starting the University of Oregon disc golf team.

He has played in PGA and Korn Ferry Tour events worldwide, as well as teaching thousands of golfers. His favorite part of the game is engaging with players of all ages and levels.

One of his greatest contributions to golf has been his patented Speed Technology. Through specific exercises, training programs and swing techniques he can increase a golfer’s ball speed which in turn enhances their distance and accuracy potential.

Dave Stockton is an acclaimed pro golfer with an estimated net worth of $5 million. In 2011, he published the best-selling Unconscious Putting guidebook which helped launch his career as a successful instructor of putting.
