Thomas Dinsmore is an Independent Director for Gabelli Convertible & Income Securities Fund Inc and boasts more than four decades of industry experience, having held positions such as Chief Executive and Portfolio Manager of Bancroft Fund Ltd from 1996-2015, as well as Co-founder of Ellsworth Fund Ltd.

Thomas Dinsmore was born and educated at Marlow Academy before making Boston his home, becoming actively involved with city affairs such as serving on the Democratic Ward Committee for eight years and holding many public offices. Tom possesses vast experience handling complex business matters. His practice encompasses representing lenders in commercial finance transactions nationwide as well as real estate financing transactions.

He has represented numerous clients in the sale and purchase of coal operations and properties, having served as corporate counsel with Carbon Industries/Carbon Fuel Company and Westmoreland Coal Company.

Dinsmore & Shohl of Boston is seeking a litigation associate for employment defense work, including depositions and motions. A background in labor and employment law as well as strong academic credentials with outstanding research writing analytical communication abilities is necessary.

Tom takes great pleasure in spending his free time with family and friends, his passion being history. An avid collector of art himself, particularly American pieces by Rembrandt and van Gogh. Additionally, he owns an impressive assortment of antique maps and prints as well as being on Gabelli Convertible and Income Securities Fund Inc’s Board of Directors.
